Shiro Ito Falls - Shizuoka

Shiro Ito falls is a beautiful waterfall situated in the Shizuoka. This is also named as one of the hundred great waterfalls in Japan. The name ShiroIto means that white threads. Once you have your first glance at the waterfall you can have a very clear image of the origin of the name. As you can see from the photo below, the water falls down more like sliding down on the rocky cliff in white threads of water. It was the winter and very cold. The shrilly coldness had froze the water falling from the cliff. It had formed short ice threads proving the origin of the name.  frozen water  The water had formed a beautiful rainbow in the morning.  The rainbow This is a an all round view of the Shiro Ito falls with the rainbow and the clear waters at the bottom. I personally think that this waterfall is more beautiful in spring with white water gliding down the cliff among the greenery. Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Deguchi ...

Senga taki - Yamanashi

We visited Shousen Gorge in the fall of 2014, to watch Autumn leaves in the fall. we came across this little 30m waterfall on the way. It is called Senga Falls, Senga standing for moon as in an old Chinese fable. Link: http://www.yamanashi-kankou.jp/foreign/english/spot/051.html This wood carving is a very detailed art piece of the Chinese fable it seems. It is found on the way towards the fall before descending a steep set of steps towards the Senga waterfall. Senga falls is selected as one of the best 100 waterfalls in Japan. We were a little too early, so there were not much autumn colors but I guess the white water falling behind the red and yellow leaves would definitely make this fall one of the best 100 falls in Japan. The path could be very cold even on a sunny day as the huge rock mountains cover the sunlight from falling. As you may notice, the path is very well built and maintained. It is spacey enough too. Women believe that leaving 1yen coins in a...

Ondome Falls - Shizuoka

You com across  Ondome falls when you visit Shiroito falls in Shizuoka. Ondome means the deafness or blocking the sound but I have no idea why this falls was named like that. I had the chance to witness the life of  a waterfall at the Ondome falls.  This is  the river or the stream which becomes the ondome Falls. This is how the water way looks like just before it falls down the cliff. This is the top of the waterfalls. It is a very rare chance to see the very top of the waterfall. This is the second phase of the life, and the most beautiful one. This is the waterfall of Ondome. This is how the waterfall ends up in a river and flows towards the sea. Special thanks to Mr and Mrs. Deguchi and the family for taking me to this beautiful spot. All Rights Reserved.

Akiu Waterrfall - Miyagi

2010/08/06 With a height of 55meters and the width of 6meters, this waterfall is one of the best hundred waterfalls in japan. This is also categorized as one of the three gushing waterfalls because of its speed. It was beautiful and wish we could go down to its foot. But , recently it has been prohibited to go down there by the Sendai Municipal Council. The entrance to the waterfall through a shrine The Akiu ootaki shrine The Akiu waterfall Miyaei bus is the only source of public transport and lack of buses is a real problem. We had to run for the last bus and missing that last bus at 18.03 would leave us alone in that lonely area with no means of travelling back to Ayashi. The entrance is free and wish we could enjoy more time there. All Rights Reserved.
