Thai Food - 5 days in Thailand

16-21/02/2010 Thai Food!!!!! Since I spent five days in Thailand , it was confirmed that Thai food will be a favorite food of mine forever. It is close to the Sri Lankan taste, yet hotter and sweeter. I decided to post about the Thai food since I first ate it in Thailand. Of course , this was not my first  time I`m having Thai food. I have been to Thai restaurants several times in Japan, but it is different when you eat the original food in its original hotness in Thailand. 1st Day I was too much in to eating on the first day, that I completely forgot about taking photos. That night it suddenly hit me that it was unjust to ignore Thai Food in my blog in all its means. So from the next day onwards, my camera was the first to catch the first glimpse of the meals once they were served. 2nd Day Lunch                    Boiled prawns with a sweet pastry cover  and Fish fried with some g...

Patthaya - Thailand

20/02/2010  This was the day at the sea. Pattaya was a good tourist spot, cool ,wet, hot and everything in all it meanings. I loved all its beaches and sceneries. It was too hot in the Ko Lan and the calm sea was most welcoming. Check out these photos for the slightest impression of Ko Lan, an island in theThai bay at Patthaya city. But I recommend you  to visit  the place for the flavor, if you know what I mean. All Rights Reserved.

Floating Market Damnoen Saduak - Bangkok -Thailand

19/02/2010 3rd day in Thailand was to be a day that can be never forgotten. We were in for a motor boat ride in the famous canals with shops floating on either side.  I have never seen such a market before and was planning to take the best out of it.The market opens at 7.30 in the morning and surprisingly, closes at exactly one o`clock in the afternoon. They run it longer on Saturdays it seems and we had to hurry up because we were in for a weekday ride. It is a paradise of souvenirs and land of tourists. The whole world comes under one roof gathered on either side of the canal watching the market float by. You can enjoy the shopping from the banks to cool your mind or so many things to see to soothe your eyes or else get something for your stomachs. It has everything under the roof but with varying prices depending on the country they are from.        We took a motor boat for 500 Bhats for one...

Ayutthaya Historical Park - Ayutthaya - Thailand

17/02/2010  Ayutthaya Historical Park is an ruined old city of the Ayutthaya  just like our Mahamewna Park in Anuradhapura. The two cities have same glories , thousands of ruined Buddhist temples, awasa and palaces. But comparing Autthaya to Anuradhapura or Anuradhapura to Ayutthaya has no sense because each has its own value and story. The first visit was to Wat Yai Chai Mongkul. It has a long statue of a Sleeping Buddha covered in a yellow Cheevara.  It is said that this was one of the Buddha statues let unharmed when the Burmese invaded and burned down the Ayutthaya city. The hair and the way of the Cheewara was dressed, indicates its own Thai Characteristics. We moved on to the Buddha house to experience the first Thai way of worshiping the Lord Buddha. as photos are unavailable due to privacy reasons, I`ll explain how it happens. You first buy three buds of lotus. With it comes t...
