Shiro Ito falls is a beautiful waterfall situated in the Shizuoka. This is also named as one of the hundred great waterfalls in Japan.
The name ShiroIto means that white threads. Once you have your first glance at the waterfall you can have a very clear image of the origin of the name. As you can see from the photo below, the water falls down more like sliding down on the rocky cliff in white threads of water.
It was the winter and very cold. The shrilly coldness had froze the water falling from the cliff. It had formed short ice threads proving the origin of the name.
frozen water
The water had formed a beautiful rainbow in the morning.
The rainbow
This is a an all round view of the Shiro Ito falls with the rainbow and the clear waters at the bottom. I personally think that this waterfall is more beautiful in spring with white water gliding down the cliff among the greenery.
Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Deguchi and the family for taking me to this beautiful place.
