Thai Food - 5 days in Thailand

16-21/02/2010

Thai Food!!!!! Since I spent five days in Thailand , it was confirmed that Thai food will be a favorite food of mine forever. It is close to the Sri Lankan taste, yet hotter and sweeter. I decided to post about the Thai food since I first ate it in Thailand. Of course , this was not my first  time I`m having Thai food. I have been to Thai restaurants several times in Japan, but it is different when you eat the original food in its original hotness in Thailand.

1st Day I was too much in to eating on the first day, that I completely forgot about taking photos. That night it suddenly hit me that it was unjust to ignore Thai Food in my blog in all its means. So from the next day onwards, my camera was the first to catch the first glimpse of the meals once they were served.
2nd Day Lunch

Boiled prawns with a sweet pastry cover  and Fish fried with some green leaves

          Ostrich Meat tempered

Above three dishes were served along with fish and vegetable Thomyam(Thai soup) with white rice.

2nd day Dinner
          Normal Rice and  Curry

I don`t remember what was served here but it was delicious!!!! and hot, hotter than the Sri Lanakan taste.

3rd Day Lunch
slim noodles

This was served at the floating market premises. It had pork slices, fish meet balls, prawns making it a sea food noodles dish. THis was good too. A different Ramen taste.

3rd Day Dinner
Fried Rice with vegetables and meat on top

This was extremely delicious.Guess it was fried pork with onions, raw mango and cucumber with a vegetable curry. This was really divine. But I wanted to try duck meat too, and I ended up buying the below plate too.

4th day Lunch was at Phatthaya and we were not much in to eating that day. It was a sea food lunch and was very very good. I had sea food fried rice with a chicken leg. yu,mmmm... But no photographs, really wish I had.
4th day Dinner was at a Kentucky Fast Food. It was hot like hell. Sooo hot..!!!! Had photos somewhere and will be uploading the dish soon.

5th day Dinner

This was at my friend s place. The final supper. The most delicious was the crab curry, in the middle of the table. Most of it was meat and fish and little vegetables. This was heaven like. Really tasty.

It was really great time specially in the matter of  food.
Finally here are some of the sweets I had the chance to taste.

Well, luck was upon me this one time. It was early morning of 5.45 and I was waiting for my sensei s vehicle in front of  Toyama Station. I did know the plans for the day but that we were going to Tateyama. Were we going to Kurobe Dam too, or going to Kurobe Dam?Were we going to take the Alpen Route or go straight to Kurobe? Surprises were waiting. We reached Tateyama Station and I knew it is my dream coming true. Weather and information of the day  It was around 14degrees at the top of the mountain while it was nearly 36degrees at the foot. We were simply above the clouds and the temperature difference was too much to bear. It was cold in the summer. Early in the morning when we passed the Murodo staion on our way to Kurobe dam it was clear all around. in the aftern...

Gokayama means five hills. These special five hills are named as UNESCO world heritage for it s old  village still left unharmed. The ancient kokiri dancing village The beautiful village of Ainokura The entrance to the village The ancient roof This roof is called "gasshou dsukuri" meaning -the prayers hand architecture-. This roof style is so strong that its compatible for the extremely heavy snow fall in this area in winter. From here onwards are some of the houses still left to date. It was marvelous to see this little village, where in winter visiting this village is difficult due to several routes are closed due to heavy snow fall in winter. All Rights Reserved.
