33 ADDRESS on the Earth

While I was looking for tourist spots in Kochi I came across a secluded spot on the map with a label "地球の３３番地" which means the address of 33 on the Earth in English. This of course sounded interesting. So we set out along the Enoguchi river towards the sea until this strange place came in to view.

So came the place in to view. It was situated in the middle of the flowing Enoguchi river with a strange monument built at the spot. No body was in sight so proving that this was not at all a tourist spot. A wooden dock was built to reach the spot.


When we got closer,that was strange monument had a big metal ball with wings an a big 33 written on it.


 Well I think it is high time to introduce what this 33 address really means. This means that the lattitude 133 33' 33" and longitude 33 33' 33" crosses at this very spot. As every single value has a 33 in it this place is called 33Address on the earth. It is said that only 8 other such places exist on the whole earth.
So if you are in Kochi go for it.

Tateyama Alpine Route - Murado Station

19/07/2010 Another dream coming true. I always wanted to go there.I was collecting leaflets, pamphlets about this but never thought of   going due to the high costs. Ainokura of Gokayama,Toyama

Gokayama means five hills. These special five hills are named as UNESCO world heritage for it s old  village still left unharmed. The ancient kokiri dancing village The beautiful village of Ainokura The entrance to the village The ancient roof This roof is called "gasshou dsukuri" meaning -the prayers hand architecture-. This roof style is so strong that its compatible for the extremely heavy snow fall in this area in winter. From here onwards are some of the houses still left to date. This houses are still strong and man made. Even in the scorching sun the temperature inside the house is cool and it is said that it is the same in the winter. It was marvelous to see this little village, where in winter visiting this village is difficult due to several routes are closed due to heavy snow fall in winter. All Rights Reserved.

Okonomiyaki - Hiroshima

2008/8/7 Hiroshima is famous for its own okonomiyaki. O-konomiyaki written お好み焼き in Japanese is a dish made of flour coated with sauce and mayonnaise. o-konaomiyaki can be translated in to [fry as you please]. I  am not sure what makes a normal o-konomiyaki being different from Hiroshima o-konomiyaki, except for all the vast amount of veggies and ham added to it.  I captured Hiroshima o-kinnomiyaki being made at the Hiroshima station.
