Nemophilia 2016 - Ibaraki

2016/04/30 When it is said Nemophilia in Japan , nothing comes to mind other than the famous HitachiKaihin Park in Ibaraki. THey have the largest meadow of nemophilia around Kanto.  Japanese Domestic Tour companies arrange your packages to this park in spring and we chose one of them. So today i post about my Nemophilia tour. Nemophilia is spread on a huge area on hill slopes in HitachiKaihin Park. The hill takes us to the top to view the sea. We visited in the latter part of the nemophilia season so now we can see green spots here and there. Thousands of visitors come over to the park to see the baby blue meadows as you can see for your self. Nemophilia is of a very beautiful baby blue color, little grassy plant. One plant can never make a difference while all the 450 million flower across the meadow really make a difference.     One random poppy flower raising towards the blue sky. Nemophilia is not all about blue. Here are

Yasukuni Shrine - Chiyoda

Yasukuni Shrine is a famous Shinto shrine. I visited the place in the peak of the spring. It is celebrating 150th Anniversary this year. This shrine has become controversial over the years as it has become a symbol of war criminals.  Whenever a political leader visits the shrine, an uproar goes across Korea and China, over the grudges about World WarII. There are famous Sakura spots around Yasukuni Shrine such as Kitano Maru Park, Budokan(Sumo Arena) and Chidorigaoka just across the street. It makes this place a very famous Sakura spot in the heart of Tokyo. Yasukuni shrine is located around 3-5 minutes walk from Kudanshita station. Entrance is free. Main Entrance The Shrine with Sakura in full bloom. Sakura trees in the shrine premises. It is a pink ceiling everywhere. This Sakura tree is the symbolic tree which symbolizes the wake of Sakura blossoms in Tokyo. The meteorological department of Tokyo monitors this very tree

Senga taki - Yamanashi

We visited Shousen Gorge in the fall of 2014, to watch Autumn leaves in the fall. we came across this little 30m waterfall on the way. It is called Senga Falls, Senga standing for moon as in an old Chinese fable. Link: http://www.yamanashi-kankou.jp/foreign/english/spot/051.html This wood carving is a very detailed art piece of the Chinese fable it seems. It is found on the way towards the fall before descending a steep set of steps towards the Senga waterfall. Senga falls is selected as one of the best 100 waterfalls in Japan. We were a little too early, so there were not much autumn colors but I guess the white water falling behind the red and yellow leaves would definitely make this fall one of the best 100 falls in Japan. The path could be very cold even on a sunny day as the huge rock mountains cover the sunlight from falling. As you may notice, the path is very well built and maintained. It is spacey enough too.
