A Day at Fuji-Q Highland - Yamanashi

30/04/2008

The first glimpse of FujiQ with mount Fuji in the background
My friend  got his hands on a lucky package which includes a one day free pass to FujiQ and transport up an down from Hachioji, for just 6600 yen. now that is cheap!!!!So we ended up with a day full of  fun, scare, sweat and panic at Fuji Q. Take my word for it FujiQ is the best amusement park in Japan if you are up for adventure. This post is written just to share the funny, scary and truly enjoyable attractions listed I popped in. there were more, but some I could not take pictures and fro some we did not enter.

Red Tower
The free fall attraction where you can experience a free fall from 52 meters high with the eccentric view of Mount Fuji. Well, i rode this three times consecutively and wish I could ride/fall more times. But now I`m thinking twice before going for free falls, thanks to the Red Tower but it was great!!

Panick Clock
This attractions gives you the experience of clinging on to a crazy clock hand.Of corse the clock suddenly goes mad and sometimes it stops to indicate teh time 12 o`clock freezing us in the air for several seconds. Well, i saw mount Fuji upside down for good several seconds!!!!

Cartoon Typhoon
This was a good break after riding all those crazy free falls and clock hands. The vies of blue Mount. Fuji make you forget where you are.

Moon Rake
You start sitting parallel to the ground and then starts the ride. This crazy plate starts rotating like it has lost it s mind. Finally, it ends up with a 83degree stand up and you get to know how a nail head sees the world.

Tonde-Mina
This attraction gives you the experience of clinging to a pendulum. At its highest it reaches somewhere around 83 meters high. I don`t eat Pizza-La anymore...(joking..)

Great Zaboon
Water attraction where you have to ride the coaster in a boat like shuttle with waterproof coats on. This was extremely fun would love to go again.

Mad Mouse
This seems like it  is fro children but it of course manages to scare the hell out of adults too. Sudden curves , sudden falls add an adventurous flavor to this mini jet coater attraction.

Merry - Go Round
This was again to cool down are hearts which skipped beats several times. Kids no-kids, this healed the panic.
The hospital
This was a scary hospital where you have to find your way out with the help of a torch. blood covered Doctors, scary nurses, dead patients all come out from nowhere. This made the day. IT WAS SCARY.

Adding to all this we also visited some other main attractions and another ghost spot too.
Fujiyama - jet coaster
Ee-Janaika -jet coaster
稲川淳二の棺桶劇場 - where you are locked inside a coffin for 15 minutes or more to hide away from a blood thirsty monster.

Thomas land was for the kids so we did not waste our time on it. As two years have already passed and new attractions have been added. Wish I could go back there again.

Tanabata - Story behind the tale

Story1 Orihime is a princess who wove beautiful clothes by the bank of the Amanogawa which is  Milky Way in English . She worked very hard every day to weave clothes. However, Orihime was sad that because of her hard work she could never meet or fall in love with anyone. Concerned about his daughter,  the  father arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi who lived and worked on the other side of the Amanogawa. When the two met, they fell instantly in love with each other and married shortly thereafter. However, once married, Orihime no longer would weave cloth and Hikoboshi allowed his cows to stray all over Heaven. In anger,  the  father separated the two lovers across the Amanogawa and forbade them to meet. Orihime became despondent at the loss of her husband and asked her father to let them meet again. The father was moved by his daughter’s tears and allowed the two to meet on the 7th day of the 7th month if she worked hard and finished her weaving. The first time they tried to meet,

Tateyama Alpine Route - Murado Station

19/07/2010 Another dream coming true. I always wanted to go there.I was collecting leaflets, pamphlets about this but never thought of   going due to the high costs. Well, luck was upon me this one time. It was early morning of 5.45 and I was waiting for my sensei s vehicle in front of  Toyama Station. I did know the plans for the day but that we were going to Tateyama. Were we going to Kurobe Dam too, or going to Kurobe Dam?Were we going to take the Alpen Route or go straight to Kurobe? Surprises were waiting. We reached Tateyama Station and I knew it is my dream coming true. Weather and information of the day  It was around 14degrees at the top of the mountain while it was nearly 36degrees at the foot. We were simply above the clouds and the temperature difference was too much to bear. It was cold in the summer. Early in the morning when we passed the Murodo staion on our way to Kurobe dam it was clear all around. in the afternoon, sudden fogs, drizzles and strong winds
