Nightout at Clarque Quay

I had the sweetest chance of enjoying the night city life of Singapore. This area is situated near the singapore river. Even Singapore is a less alcoholic country, they get together in this area and drink. English rock music, live guitar music, live shows come alive at night. The place become so lively with people drinking, singing, talking. The cool breeze coming across the river settles all the troubles and bring in peace. It may be a little expensive but it is worth the money. .

Kiyomizudera - Kyoto

The Famous Kiyomizudera  I was in Kyoto in 2009 on a trip and this famous Kiyomizu-dera was one stop. This temple is one of the most famous temples in Kyoto. This is one of the UNESCO heritages in Japan and has a great historical value. This Kiyomizudera is a Buddhist temple situated in the east of Kyoto. Below are some of the snapshots I captured on my way. The above metal sculpture at the entrance to the temple . There are two such dragon fountains at the entrance so that the entering people can clean there hands. This is one of the wooden pavilions that can be seen from the main pavilion. The famous main pavilion The famous main pavilion that has been the spot for so many photographs. This same angle is a very famous landscape photo. It is beautiful in Spring when it is covered with pink blossoms of Sakura and in the autumn, beautiful red and yellow autumn leaves. Durian The King of Fruits - Tokyo

So do you like Durian?  Well What do you hate in Durian,  the smell, the taste or both? I had the chance to taste Durian for the first time in Japan at the Thai Festival 2010. Durian the king of fruits has a very smelly taste. The taste is sweet and the smell adds to the taste. Most of the people around could not help the smell. The prices of Durian varied from 1000 to 3000 yen. I captured some shots of how to serve Durian at a Durian shop. All Rights Reserved.

Tokyo Tower

This is of course one of the first places I visited in Tokyo area. Tokyo tower is a main landmark in Japan. This is mainly a communication tower. This tower is an attack built in attack to the Eiffel tower, with a height of approximately 333 meters. This was the tallest tower then but now standing at the 24th place in the world ranking at 10th place in the Asia ranking. At the time I visited the tower, it was decorated with illumination in support For Japan who was a contestant as the 2016 Olympic host country. It was also the Christmas season which was another plus point for the glamorous illumination. The picture below was taken at the very bottom of the tower. It was one of my childish chaleenge to capture the tip of  the tower from the tower premises and I think I succeed. Tokyo tower has two observatories. One was at the height of 150 meters and the other at the 250 meters for a higher price. Both offers a panorama view of Tokyo and even Mount. Fuji on clear da

Autumn Leaves at Takao

2011/12/04 In Japan, watching autumn leaves is a leisure activity , which is rarely missed. People leave homes with cameras in groups to capture the beauty of the natures color play. They walk through the trees dressed in red to yellow leaves just about to fall. The end of the autumn is inviting the coldness while warming the hearts of people with this beautiful sights. The sight of the color variation and shadings are just so divine. This tree was just beside the road covered in its glorious dress. This was the first sign saying that it was just the right time to be here watching autumn leaves.  The natural springs of Mt.Takao feed this little water flow. The previous day was a rainy day and this gush of water is now boasting. The red leaves are just steps away from falling down to be floated down the river. All together the scene was magnificent and believe me this is just beside a busy road.  Again a well bred river with the colored trees bending over. S

Snow in Kanagawa 2012

2012/01/23 Though it`s early, snow was there for the second time this year. We are more than overjoyed to see this beautiful snowy night today.. Too bad, my window view is covered with a little yard of trees so sunlight or even normal street light does not reach my windows. So my snowy view can barely be captured from my poor little camera.. Why  is this particular snowing important to me...??  you may wonder. :) That is because this would be my final snowing in Kanagawa. This would be the last snowing I may see from my hostel windows.. This is how it looks from my fourth floor window. Sorry for the poor quality of the captures. Enjoy.. Hopefully there would be more snow tomorrow and a better view. All Rights Reserved

Hikone Castle

2011/08/03     I was in Hikone of Shiga prefecture for over a week. It was a business trip so unfortunately we did not have enough time to enjoy the area. As the hotel was just kilometers away from the famous Hikone Castle, my friend and I took the free time on the way back after work to drop by the castle. It was past 5o`clock in the evening so the entrance was officially closed. But the in-charge personnel were kind enough to let us go up and enjoy the castle premises.   This is one old fashioned gateway to the castle. There were several gates and entrances to the premises.  This was the second entrance and the photo was taken from above. In the far end , the bell can be seen. This is yet being rung on occasions in Hikone. The castle premises were joined by several bridges like this one. In early stages there had been a mechanism to raise the bridges when needed. But now they are supported bu some wooden pillars and always laid down.  The top of
