Autumn Leaves at Takao

2011/12/04

In Japan, watching autumn leaves is a leisure activity , which is rarely missed. People leave homes with cameras in groups to capture the beauty of the natures color play. They walk through the trees dressed in red to yellow leaves just about to fall. The end of the autumn is inviting the coldness while warming the hearts of people with this beautiful sights.

The sight of the color variation and shadings are just so divine.

This tree was just beside the road covered in its glorious dress. This was the first sign saying that it was just the right time to be here watching autumn leaves.

The natural springs of Mt.Takao feed this little water flow. The previous day was a rainy day and this gush of water is now boasting. The red leaves are just steps away from falling down to be floated down the river. All together the scene was magnificent and believe me this is just beside a busy road.

Again a well bred river with the colored trees bending over. Some trees had already cleared themselves by dropping the leaves. This is the signature of the forth coming dull winter and the ending autumn. I thought that this could be a beautiful blend.

This was captured at the entrance to the Jaguchi waterfall . The road was winding in to the woody  mountain and the colorful shade overhead. The leaves fall on to you reminding as if it is a "leave rain " while the already fallen leaves have made a carpet for you to step on.

So soothing colors. Healing the minds...

I am waiting for the next year s autumn leaves..
Hope you enjoyed this!!!

Surprises were waiting. We reached Tateyama Station and I knew it is my dream coming true. Weather and information of the day  It was around 14degrees at the top of the mountain while it was nearly 36degrees at the foot. We were simply above the clouds and the temperature difference was too much to bear. It was cold in the summer. Early in the morning when we passed the Murodo staion on our way to Kurobe dam it was clear all around. in the aftern...

Borobudur - Yogyakarta

2014/05/06 Borobudur is the worlds largest Buddhist temple, hence UNESCO World Heritage Site. We had plans to watch the sunrise at Borbudur over Mount Merapi. So it was an early trip to the temple around 4.30 in the dark by torch light, wait for the sunrise enjoy the view from the top of the temple, have breakfast at Manohara hotel and leave. It was pitch dark in the night, not much moon. The torchlight showed us the way and a silhouette of a temple came in to view when our eyes gradually got used to the dark. With the first rays of sunlight, we saw Mount Merapi. The beautiful but vicious volcano fuming. Loved it! All around the place is covered in mist, so the actual surroundigs are yet to be confirmed. By now the temple, which we  have already climbed and waiting at the  top, is coming in to view. The stupas, carvings and statues gradually emerge. The temple is a symmetrical stupa, consisting of nine stacked platforms: six squar...
